The Southeast Branch of the Texas Chapter of the American Public Works Association began 2026 with great success. The Branch has hosted several educational monthly meetings and is looking forward to hosting its annual Picnic for recognizing public works professionals during National Public Works Week (May 17-23, 2026). This year’s National Theme for the week is “Rooted in Service Powered by Community”.
It is the Branch’s wish to recognize and thank Public Works employees during the Week and at the annual Picnic, which will take place on May 20, 2026, at the Gulf Coast Water Authority, located at 4351 E Hwy 6, Alvin Tx 77511. The BBQ Cook Off and Equipment ROADeo have provided a fun and engaging way for everyone to interact and reflect on the impact of public works on our communities.
Festivities will begin at 10:00 AM, and we will have three (3) competitions between cities:
- BBQ Cook-off Competition (categories such as Brisket, Ribs, Chicken)
- Dessert
- Equipment Roadeo
With regards to the sponsorship packages, we completely understand that no one likes additional fees, but these funds assist Humanitix maintain seamless operation through all of our events and a portion is also donated to partner charity organizations.
