Director of Fleet & Facilities
The Opportunity
The City of Missouri City invites experienced fleet and facilities professionals to consider an outstanding opportunity to lead a critical municipal support department in one of the Houston region’s growing communities. The Director of Fleet & Facilities serves as a member of the City’s leadership team and leads fleet, facilities, asset management, capital maintenance planning, and ADA compliance functions.
What You Will Lead
The Department includes 14 authorized positions and manages approximately 226 vehicles, 170 pieces of equipment, 17 City buildings, more than 303,000 square feet of facility space, and an FY26 combined operating and capital budget of approximately $9.7 million.
The next Director will have a meaningful opportunity to strengthen systems, guide long-term fleet replacement and asset lifecycle planning, advance preventive maintenance and facility programs, support employees, and shape the standards and operations that keep the City ready to serve.
What We Are Looking For
Candidates should bring strong leadership skills and progressively responsible experience in fleet and/or facilities operations. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least seven years of progressively responsible experience, including three or more years managing fleet, facilities, maintenance, or related operational functions.
Municipal experience and professional credentials such as CAFM, CFM, or PMP are preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
The expected hiring salary is approximately $150,000, depending on qualifications and experience. The City offers an excellent benefits package that includes TMRS retirement, 457(b)/Roth options, comprehensive insurance, vacation and sick leave, 12 holidays plus a floating holiday, tuition and educational assistance, phone and vehicle allowances, and potential relocation assistance.
