No previous competition experience is required. You do not have to qualify through the Texas Chapter Equipment Roadeo to participate. Whether you're a seasoned operator or entering your first roadeo, this is a great opportunity to challenge yourself, have fun, and represent your agency and Texas.

No. There is no limit to the number of competitors from Texas. We want to showcase as many talented operators as possible – so encourage your coworkers to register, too!

No! Choose the competitions you want to enter—one, two, or all of them. Just be sure to register for each event in advance, as each competition has its own registration fee. Additional events may be added on-site for the applicable fee (if space is available).

Yes! You do not have to register for the full PWX conference to compete. A Roadeo-only registration option is available if you only plan to participate in the competition.

Yes! Everyone entering the National Equipment Roadeo must be registered and wear a PWX badge since the competition is held inside a secured event area. Spectators can register for a FREE Expo Pass, courtesy of the Texas Chapter, to attend the Roadeo and visit the exhibit hall at no charge.

Yes, there may be financial assistance available. Check with your local APWA Branch to see if they offer a professional development stipend. You can also apply for a Texas Chapter Professional Development Scholarship to help offset expenses.

We'd love to see more women represented at this year's National Equipment Roadeo! If you've considered competing, now is a great time to register and start practicing. Special awards will be presented to women competing in the Backhoe/Mini-Excavator events.

Registration has been extended through August 14, 2026, but don't wait! The National Equipment Roadeo is limited to 200 competitors, and registration will close once capacity is reached.
